A juicy and savory Japanese mustard spinach with garlic

It is a dish that goes well with the peculiar taste of Japanese mustard spinach (called komatsuna) and garlic.

How to make

  1. Cut Japanese mustard spinach into bite size
  2. Finely chop the garlic
  3. Add oil to a pan, reduce the heat to low and add the garlic.
  4. When the aroma of garlic comes out, add Japanese mustard spinach from the hard part, and fry quickly over high heat.
  5. Add salt and white pepper, and when the Japanese mustard spinach has the desired hardness, add soy sauce at the end to bring out the aroma.

  • Basically season with salt and white pepper. Soy sauce plays a role of scenting.
