Texture becomes addictive Lotus root(Renkon) Kinpira

Kinpira is a traditional Japanese dish. It has a sweet soy flavor. It taste like teriyaki. This is the basic lotus root kinpira recipe. Lotus root is rich in dietary fiber and is a good for stomach!

Ingredients (For 1 – 2 serving)

How to make

  1. Peel the lotus root and cut into rounds (half-moon slices are OK)
  2. Add oil to a pan and stir-fry the lotus root.
  3. When the lotus root covered with oiled, add cooking sake and sugar first, then add soy sauce.
  4. When the lotus root is cooked, add mirin to finish it and shine it.

Point

  • Add mirin at the end to make it shine.
  • The tips to making Japanese food is to put sweets such as cooking sake and sugar first, and then add salty things such as soy sauce. If you add soy sauce first, the taste will not soak in.
